New Delhi: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the Opposition, accusing them of hindering progress and development. During the virtual foundation-laying ceremony for the upgrade of 508 railway stations across the country, Modi criticized the faction of the Opposition that boycotted the inaugural ceremony of the new Parliament building. He stated that this faction neither takes any action themselves nor allows others to do so.

Modi emphasized the significance of the Parliament as a symbol of the country's democracy, highlighting that it represents both the ruling party and the opposition. However, he criticized the same faction of the Opposition for opposing the construction of the new Parliament building. The Prime Minister also criticized the Opposition for their resistance to the redevelopment of Kartavya Path and their failure to build a war memorial during their 70 years of rule. He expressed his disappointment at their public criticism of the National War Memorial, which was built under his leadership.

Modi also mentioned the lack of acknowledgment from certain political leaders towards achievements like the Statue of Unity, which is the world's tallest statue and a source of pride for every Indian. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a redevelopment project aimed at transforming railway stations into modern and state-of-the-art facilities, was highlighted during the event. The Prime Minister's Office stated that this initiative reflects Modi's commitment to providing world-class public transport and catering to the needs of millions of passengers.

In his speech, Modi emphasized that India is at the beginning of its 'Amrit Kaal,' a time of new energy, inspiration, and resolutions. He expressed that every 'Amrit' station will serve as a symbol of the city's aspirations and India's ancient heritage, demonstrating the country's commitment to positive politics and progress.
