New Delhi: The corona epidemic is gaining momentum in the country. PM Modi is calling the chief ministers of the states to find out directly about the situation there. PM Modi on Saturday called Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. The two reportedly talked about the corona epidemic.

The pace of corona infection in Maharashtra is not going to stop. In the last 24 hours, 54,022 new corona cases were reported in the province. 898 people died. So far, 49,96,758 people have been infected with corona and 74,413 patients have lost their lives. Currently, 6,54,788 patients are undergoing treatment here. Meanwhile, 3,039 new patients were found in Mumbai on Friday and 71 people lost their lives. PM Modi had also held discussions with chief ministers of three states on Friday over the corona crisis. PM Modi on Friday spoke to Manipur CM N Biren Singh, Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb, and Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang to discuss the covid situation.

PM Modi had also spoken to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren earlier on Thursday. After which the Jharkhand CM took a dig at PM Modi saying that it would have been better if he had listened to the work. Hemant Soren wrote in a tweet, 'Today the venerable Prime Minister called. He just spoke his mind, it would have been better if he had talked about work and listened to work.' There was a hue and cry over the same tweet.
