Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Kerala's  Thrissur, a key constituency prioritized by the BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, on January 2nd. His visit will culminate in addressing a substantial gathering of 200,000 women at an event titled 'Sthree Shakthi Sangamam'.

The Kerala unit of the BJP has orchestrated this event to honor PM Modi's successful passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill through both houses of Parliament, informed K Surendran, the state president of the party.

Various segments of women from diverse vocations such as Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, entrepreneurs, MGNREGA workers, Kudumbashree members, as well as social and cultural activists, have been extended invitations to participate in the 'Sthree Shakthi Sangamam'. The event is slated to take place at Thekkinkadu ground in Thrissur.

"The objective behind organizing this event is to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the passage of the women’s reservation bill in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Previously, we had organized a similar event for the youth," mentioned Surendran. He further clarified that the PM's itinerary involves attending a single event during the visit before returning.

Thrissur is among the six constituencies in Kerala that have been earmarked for special attention by the BJP in the forthcoming general elections, with actor-politician Suresh Gopi reportedly set to contest from this seat.

In a parallel development, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to visit Kerala today, December 16, for various BJP-organized events in the state. Sitharaman will be the chief guest at the Viksith Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Mangalapuram, Thiruvananthapuram district. Additionally, she will participate in a convocation ceremony at Fatima Matha College in Kollam. The Finance Minister is expected to conclude her visit by evening, marking her second trip to Thiruvananthapuram within a month.
