Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three new Vande Bharat Express trains on Saturday, August 31, at around 12:30 pm. These trains aim to enhance connectivity between key cities in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, offering faster and more comfortable travel options.
The new routes include:
Meerut-Lucknow: This service will reduce travel time by about one hour compared to the fastest existing train between these cities.
Madurai-Bengaluru: Passengers will save approximately 1.5 hours on this route.
Chennai-Nagercoil: This train will cut journey time by over two hours.

Madurai-Jn to Bengaluru Cantonment: Bookings for this route are now open.
Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil: Regular service starts on September 2, 2024, with bookings also now open.
Key Features and Stops:
Chennai-Nagercoil: Covering 726 km across 12 districts in Tamil Nadu, this route will serve major towns and pilgrimage sites, including the Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and the Kumari Amman Temple in Kanniyakumari.
Madurai-Bengaluru: Connecting the historic city of Madurai with Bengaluru, this service will benefit businesspeople, students, and other commuters between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Meerut-Lucknow: This train will enhance religious tourism by providing quicker access to important temples and pilgrimage sites in the region. It will also boost the industrial connectivity between Meerut and the Uttar Pradesh capital.
The Vande Bharat Express: Launched on February 15, 2019, as part of India's 'Make in India' initiative, the Vande Bharat Express trains are known for their speed, luxury, and safety features. Over 100 such trains now operate across India, improving connectivity to more than 280 districts.
These new trains are equipped with advanced amenities, including Kavach technology for safety, rotating chairs, accessible toilets, and Braille signages, offering passengers a top-tier travel experience.
