NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday, August 24 to inaugurate and dedicate two key healthcare initiatives.
The Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana, will be officially opened by the prime minister on August 24 in the morning. The Prime Minister will then depart for Mohali and arrive in Mullanpur, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District (Mohali), about 2:15 p.m. to dedicate the "Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center" to the country.
The availability of modern medical infrastructure in the National Capital Region will get a boost as the Prime Minister will inaugurate Amrita Hospital at Faridabad.
The super-specialty hospital, run by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, will have 2,600 beds. The hospital, which is being built at an estimated cost of around Rs 6,000 crore will provide state-of-the-art healthcare amenities to the people of Faridabad and the entire NCR region.
The Prime Minister will dedicate the "Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Center" to the country at Mohali in an effort to offer top-notch cancer care to citizens of Punjab and neighbouring states and UTs.
The Hospital was constructed for more than Rs 660 crore by the Tata Memorial Centre, an assisted institution run by the Indian government's Department of Atomic Energy.
