New Delhi: On 27 July, on the occasion of CRPF's 82nd Foundation Day, PM Modi has tweeted greetings. He wrote in his tweet "Congratulations to all CRPF personnel on CRPF's 82nd Foundation Day. CRPF is at the forefront of keeping our country safe. The courage and professionalism of the force are widely appreciated. CRPF may achieve even greater heights in the coming years.''

The event is being organized on 27 July on CRPF 82nd Foundation Day. During this time a tribute will be paid to the martyrs with the help of band in Delhi. Due to the lockdown implemented in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh due to Corona infection, traditional programs to be held every year in the CRPF campus located here will be conducted through a digital medium. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address through video conferencing.

CRPF DG Dr AK Maheshwari and other key officers will be especially involved in this. On 27 July 1939, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was established in Neemuch. It was named the 'Crown Representative Police' in the then British Raj. After independence, the country's first Union Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, renamed the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) while retaining the services. It was initiated by the CRPF Act on 28 December 1949.
