Abu Dhabi: During their recent talks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan delved into key global issues, including the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, as well as tensions in the Red Sea, stated Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra on Wednesday.
Kwatra highlighted the significance of these discussions, emphasizing the substantial stakes involved whenever disturbances arise in these regions. He underscored that these topics have consistently featured in the dialogues between the two leaders, reflecting their shared concern over developments in the area.
Furthermore, Kwatra pointed out that the region holds vital importance for global energy security, including for India, underscoring the need for continued monitoring and collaboration between the two nations, especially in initiatives like the India-Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the I2U2 bloc, comprising India, Israel, the US, and the UAE.
In addition to geopolitical matters, the bilateral meeting also saw the exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between PM Modi and President Nahyan. Moreover, PM Modi engaged with students at the newly established IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus, marking a significant step in educational collaboration between India and the UAE.
Kwatra emphasized the global accessibility of the institute's facilities, highlighting its role in expanding the reach and significance of India's prestigious IITs.
