Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir for a two-day trip starting today. The Jammu and Kashmir Police have ramped up security measures across the city in anticipation of his visit.

Enhanced Security Measures: Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Kashmir Zone, Vidhi Kumar Birdi, announced a multi-tier security arrangement in Srinagar. "A high-alert security system is in place as per the protocols," he told ANI on Wednesday.
Drone Restrictions: Srinagar police have declared the city a 'Temporary Red Zone' for drones and quadcopters. Unauthorized drone activities in this zone will be penalized under the Drone Rules, 2021.
Arrival and Event: PM Modi will arrive in Srinagar today. At 6 PM, he will attend the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC).
Development Projects: The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several development projects in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
Infrastructure Investments: PM Modi will unveil 84 major development projects worth over Rs. 1,500 crore, including those related to road infrastructure, water supply schemes, and higher education facilities.
Specific Projects: He will also initiate projects like the improvement of the Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri Section, the development of Industrial Estates, and the construction of six Government Degree Colleges.
Agriculture and Allied Sectors: The Prime Minister will launch the ₹1,800 crore JKCIP Project, aimed at boosting competitiveness in agriculture and related sectors.
Project Reach: The JKCIP Project will be implemented in 90 Blocks across 20 districts, impacting 300,000 households and benefiting 1.5 million people.
International Day of Yoga: On Friday, June 21, PM Modi will participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC in Srinagar, where he will address the attendees and join a yoga session.
Event Participation: The SKICC event is expected to draw between 3,000 and 4,000 participants. This year’s International Day of Yoga theme is 'Yoga for Self and Society,' emphasizing the role of yoga in promoting both individual and societal health.
