New Delhi: PM Modi will submit land ownership documents to 1.32 lakh people under the Proprietary Scheme (SVAMITVA) on October 11. The central government is giving a historic step to its proprietary scheme. This will help in settling the ground disputes in the villages. Under the scheme, 6.62 lakh villages will come up in a phased manner in four years. So far, the government did not have any record of the land of the village population. After the record, the people of the villages will also get bank loans on their land.

PM Modi had launched the Swamitva scheme on the National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24. The government aims to provide a record of land of 6.62 lakh villages by 2024. The move on rural areas will empower crores of population of villages. PM Modi will submit property cards to people through video conferencing. With the launch of the scheme, SMS will be linked to more than 1 lakh people on the phone, through which they will be able to download the property card.

PM Modi will hand over these digital cards to the people of 763 villages. These include 346 in Uttar Pradesh, 221 in Haryana, 100 in Maharashtra, 44 in Madhya Pradesh, 50 in Uttarakhand and 2 villages in Karnataka. All states except Maharashtra will get a digital copy of the property in just 1 day. While in Maharashtra the property card will have to wait for 1 month
