He asked the officials to review the plan to provide concessions on international flights and passengers coming from abroad. Since a new variant of coronavirus is spreading in South Africa and has reached Hong Kong, India is also worried about it.

He said the process of maintenance and active surveillance should continue in any areas where more cases are still coming up. He also asked people to be careful and advised them to use masks. He also directed a review of the lax decision in the restrictions imposed on international travel.
PM Modi was briefed by the officials on the status of coronavirus infection all over the world. He also reviewed the next phase of the vaccination campaign under 'Har Ghar Dastak'. The current positivity rate of corona in the country was discussed. He directed the authorities to remain alert over the new variant. He also asked the State Governments and officials at the district level to maintain coordination.
