BENGALURU: BJP MP from Karnataka, Stunning Surya said on Monday that PM Narendra Modi has changed the country's status in the past five years and ended the general perception of politics being a "family business" that has made even the youth of ordinary families dream of coming to the state. Surya said this while participating in the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on President Ram Nath Kovind's Address.

"The Modi government has laid the foundation for a new India and now the economy has become clean and transparent. He has said that for the first time since Independence in the Modi government, the people of the country felt proud of Hindu culture. Talking to reporters in the House for the first time, Surya, an MP from Bengaluru-South, said that it is Modi who has been able to reach the temple of the middle class of youth democracy like him. Modi changed the state of the country and ended the notion that politics is a 'family business'.

He said, GST was successfully implemented in the Modi government and worked to make the economy transparent. Surya has attacked the Congress saying that if the opposition does not change its conduct, all the 543 members in the House will be from the BJP next time. Dilip Ghosh of the BJP raised the law and order issue in West Bengal and alleged that the CM of the state wants to make West Bengal west Bangladesh.
