India-Uzbekistan stand together against terrorism: PM Modi during virtual meeting

New Delhi: PM Modi today held a virtual meeting with Uzbekistan President Shavjat Mirziyoyev on bilateral issues. This was the first virtual summit between the two countries during the crisis of Corona epidemic. In his address during the virtual talks, PM Modi said he was going to visit Uzbekistan this year but could not travel due to corona. PM Modi said both India and Uzbekistan are rich civilizations and have been together for quite some time.

PM Modi said both the countries are moving ahead with the challenges and circumstances of their region. He also said the concerns of the two countries over extremism, fundamentalism and separatism are the same, the two countries are together against terrorism. In his address, PM Modi said that our role is important for peace in Afghanistan and both countries will move forward. We had launched the India Asian Dialogue, which is advancing peace and economic relations between the two countries.

PM Modi assured that India will continue to support Uzbekistan in areas including science, development, agriculture. The security partnership between the two countries is being strengthened, which is important not only for the two countries but also for the region. PM Modi said that during the Corona period, the two countries cooperated with each other, while medicines and citizens were assisted.
