New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Monday (July 25) virtually addressed a programme organised to mark the 10th death anniversary of Harmohan Singh Yadav, who was the national president of Yadav Mahasabha. PM Modi enumerated the works of Harmohan Yadav and urged to learn from him. At the same time, PM Modi also gave a piece of important advice to the political parties. He said "It is the responsibility of every single political party not to turn the opposition of any party, the opposition of the individual, against the country. Ideologies have, and should, have their place. If there are political ambitions, it can happen. But, the country is first, and society is first, and the nation is first.''
PM Modi said that today is also a very big democratic day for our country. Today our new President has been sworn in. For the first time since independence, a woman president from a tribal society is going to lead the country. The thoughts of Lohiaji were taken forward by Harmohan Singh Yadav Ji from the land of UP and Kanpur. The contribution that Harmohan Yadav has made to the politics of the state and the country, and the work he has done for society, is guiding generations to come. He said that Harmohan Singh Yadav not only took a political stand against the Sikh genocide, but he also came out and fought to protect the Sikh brothers and sisters. He protected the lives of so many Sikh families and innocents.
PM Modi further said that the country also recognized this leadership of his, and honoured him with the Shaurya Chakra. The existence of parties is because of democracy and the existence of democracy is because of the country. He said that most of the parties in our country, especially all the non-Congress parties, have also followed this idea, the idea of cooperation and coordination for the country.
