New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi arrived in his constituency Varanasi on Thursday. Addressing the people of Varanasi, he said that the skill development of the new generation of youth is a national necessity and a huge foundation for a self-reliant India. We have to accelerate the Skill India Mission afresh by adding full strength to the base that has been created in the last 6 years, which has become new institutions.

PM Modi further said, "Our ancestors gave importance to skills as well as made it a part of the joy of society. We worship Vijayadashmi with weapons, Akshaya Tritiya is worshipped by farmers and agricultural machinery. The worship of Lord Vishwakarma has been a great festival for people related to each craft. Today, it is necessary that earnings are with your learning, shouldn't be stopped.'' PM Modi said, 'There is so much demand for skills in the world today that only those who have this quality will move forward. This applies to individuals as well as to the country. If education gives us information about what we have to do, skills teach us how that work will be done in real form. The Skill India Mission is a program to mix step by step with the same truth, the same need.'

PM Modi further said that India can provide a smart and skilled manpower solution for the world. These should be at the core of our youth's skill strategy. In view of this, the mapping of the global skill gap is a commendable step.
