Tokyo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the demise of former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe. Pm Narendra Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle, "I am shocked and saddened by the sad demise of one of my dearest friends Shinzo Abe.'' PM Modi further said that Shinzo Abe has made a very important contribution in taking India-Japan relations to the level of a special strategic and global partnership. Today, the whole of India mourns with Japan and we stand in solidarity with our Japanese brothers and sisters in this difficult time.

At that time, PM Narendra Modi wrote that he was deeply saddened by the attack on my dear friend Abe Shinzo. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and the people of Japan. Japan's current PM Fumio Kishida has also reacted to this.

He has said that the attack is barbaric and malicious and cannot be tolerated. We'll do everything we can. "Shinzo Abe's condition is serious right now and at the moment, Doctors are doing everything possible to save Shinzo Abe.'' He further said "I pray that the former Prime Minister's life is saved. However, Fumio's tweet was from before Shinzo's death when he was hospitalized.''
