Bhopal: Police arrested a man who threatened to kill Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal, in June. On June 18, a man called the Sadhvi and said, "I am Iqbal Kaskar's man speaking. You're going to be murdered, so I told you on the phone.'' The police have arrested the caller Nasir in this connection.

BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur had lodged a case at TT Nagar police station in Bhopal on June 18. She said someone had threatened her over the phone. The caller described himself as Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar's man. He also said, "You're going to be murdered, so I called and told you." The persons standing with the Sadhvi had also recorded a video of the conversation, which also appeared on social media.  

Sadhvi Pragya Thakur had defended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her objectionable statement on Prophet Mohammad. In this incident, she had said that India belongs to Hindus. Heretics have always done so. Accusing Hindu gods and goddesses of abusing them by making films, she said that it is our responsibility to keep the Hindus alive here and it is our responsibility to keep them alive.
