New Delhi: Architect firm finalized to design the Central Vista (Rajpath) of the national capital, New Delhi, suggested shifting the Prime Minister's residence from 7 Lok Kalyan Marg to Dalhousie Road Hutments south of Raisina Hills (Rashtrapati Bhavan) is. However, officials have made it clear that all aspects, including the transfer of PM House and Prime Minister's Office, will be taken only after careful consideration.

Ahmedabad-based architecture and urban design firm HPC Design has proposed to relocate the Prime Minister's residence and make several changes to Rajpath. It also includes the construction of a new building of Parliament House and building of Central Secretariat. An Urban Development Ministry official has said, 'The firm's election is only the first step in this direction. The proposals related to the entire design, architecture, especially issues related to the new building and offices of Parliament House, etc. will be discussed thoroughly with the Government, Speaker of Lok Sabha and other top officials before taking a final decision.

It is an issue of national importance and will have to undergo several rounds of scrutiny. This project will be implemented by the Central Public Works Department i.e. CPWD under the Ministry of Urban Development.
