Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has now retired. On Saturday, he has announced his retirement from international cricket. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a letter to Dhoni about this and praised him. Recently, when PM Modi wrote the letter, he wrote in it, 'You see the soul of the new India, where the destiny of the youth does not decide their family name, but they achieve their own place and name.' Dhoni tweeted and thanked PM Modi for the best wishes.

In his tweet, Dhoni wrote, 'An artist, soldier and sportsman wants to be praised. They want everyone to recognize their hard work and sacrifice. Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the appreciation and best wishes.' PM Modi wrote, "You had shared a video on the 15th of August in simple style, which was enough for passionate debate. 130 crore Indians are disappointed, but also thankful for what you have done for India in the last decade and a half." He further wrote that dependence on you in difficult circumstances and your style of ending the match, especially the 2011 World Cup final, will remain in the minds of people for generations. Further PM Modi wrote," Your career figures can also be seen. You are among the most successful captains of India. You have played an important role in making India the number one team in the world. Your name will be counted among the best batsmen, captains and best wicketkeepers in the history of cricket."

He said, 'it doesn't matter which hairstyle you kept. But win or lose, your mind is always calm. This is the biggest lesson for the youth of the country. It would be unfair to see you as just a player. Coming out of a small town, you dominated the national arena, you made a name for yourself and most importantly made the country proud. I would like to specifically mention your association with the armed forces. You were very happy to join the army people.'

PM wrote, 'where we have come from does not matter very much, as long as we know in which direction we are going. You showed this sentiment and inspired many youths from it'. He also wrote in his letter, 'Your commitments for the country will always be remembered. I hope Sakshi and Jeeva will be able to spend more time with you now. I wish you all the best, because nothing is possible without the sacrifice and support of the family. The youth of the country will learn from you how to create a synergy between professional and personal life. I wish you good luck for the future.'
