It has been 12 years since the great cricketer Virat Kohli entered Indian cricket. He was included in the Indian cricket team on August 18, 2008 in the ODI match against Sri Lanka. After his great performance in the Cricket World Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Virat's eagerness to enter the Indian national team is being seen. In the first match, he had to score 12 runs in 22 balls. His first wicket was taken by Sri Lankan star bowler Nuwan Kulasekara. When India were all out for 146, Sri Lanka won the match by 8 wickets with 91 balls to spare. The beginning was a defeat, but then every step of Kohli was at the pinnacle of victory.

Kohli has scored his first ODI century in 14 matches. In 2009, he scored 109 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Then the century hunt started, now he has rode 43 centuries in ODIs and 27 centuries in Tests. With an average of over 50 in 3 formats, Kohli has continued to put the records of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar in jeopardy. He scored 11867 runs in 248 ODIs at an average of 59.34, Kohli can break Tendulkar's record of ONEDAY century by just 7 centuries. Kohli has scored 58 ODI half-centuries, 1116 fours and 122 sixes in ODIs. His ODI strike rate is 93.25.

Kohli has been the Test captain since Mahi's retirement in 2014, but will take over the ODI captaincy in 2017. After being the captain, he has managed to maintain his batting performance, but has so far secured the ICC Trophy. Pakistan's defeat in the 2017 Champions Trophy final is still an insult to Kohli's career. With the arrival of Mahi, now all the weight of Indian cricket will be on Kohli. It should be hoped that the bravery of Kohli's Indian cricket team, which has completed 12 years, will remain even more impressive.
