New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Thursday (February 9) lashed out at the Congress in the Rajya Sabha. In his cheeky style, PM Modi taunted Congress in the House and said I do not understand why the Gandhi family feels embarrassed to write Nehru surname. The Prime Minister said that some people also have a problem as to why the names of our schemes are in the Sanskrit language.

Why feel ashamed to write Nehru surname:-

Continuing his talk, PM Modi said that the name of the Gandhi-Nehru family was there in 650 schemes of the country. They have a problem that why we leave Nehru ji's name in our plans and programs. But, one thing I do not understand is why the people of the new generation (Gandhi family) feel ashamed of writing Nehru in their surname. After all, what had he (Nehru) done? This country is not the property of any family or anyone's father. The Prime Minister further said, 'Congress has left no stone unturned in spreading hatred and we have left no stone unturned in the upliftment of science and technology.' PM Modi said that those who do not know the difference between job and employment, are preaching to us today. More than 350 private companies are working in the defense sector today. Defense material worth Rs 1 lakh crore has been exported.

Congress toppled democratic governments 90 times:-

In his speech, PM Modi also besieged the Congress for toppling many governments. He said, 'Those who are sitting in the opposition today, had torn apart cooperative federalism. Congress toppled the democratically elected government 90 times by invoking Article 356. Indira Gandhi toppled governments 50 times by applying 356. It was this Congress that toppled Karunanidhi's government in Tamil Nadu. Sharad Pawar, who was a young CM, was also removed by Congress. NTR's government was toppled by Congress when he had gone to America for treatment. PM Modi said that there was a time when Raj Bhavan was made Congress office.
