New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (October 27) spoke on the phone with Britain's new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. PM Modi congratulated Sunak on becoming PM and discussed India-UK relations in detail. During this conversation, the free trade agreement between the two nations has also been discussed.
PM Modi spoke to Sunak and congratulated him on taking charge. PM Modi gave this information in a tweet. PM Modi tweeted, "Happy to talk to Rishi Sunak today. Congratulated him on taking over as UK PM. We will work together to further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership. We have also agreed on the importance of a comprehensive and balanced FTA.'' This tweet of PM Modi also received a reaction from Rishi Sunak.
Thanking PM Modi for his congratulations, he said that both countries are going to work together. Sunak said thank you for the wishes, PM Modi. Britain and India share so many things with each other. I am very excited to think that in the coming times, we two great democracies can do so much in the defense, economic field.
