Science festival to begin tomorrow in Kolkata, PM Modi will address through video conferencing

Kolkata: PM Narendra Modi will address the four-day India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019 through video conferencing, starting on Tuesday in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. IISF organizers gave this official information on Sunday. The annual festival, organized jointly by the Union Government's Ministry of Science and Technology and departments and Vigyan Bharati, will continue till November 8.

About 12 thousand participants from India and abroad will take part in IISF-2019. The main activities of Vigyan Mahotsav are mainly organized at the World Bangla Convention Center and Science City in Kolkata. Some programs during the festival will also be held at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Bose Institute and Indian Institute of Chemical Biology in Kolkata.

More than 28 different types of events will be organized during IISF-2019. One of the highlights of the Science Festival is the Student Science Village (Student Science Village), in which around 2500 school students from different parts of the country have been invited. These students have been nominated by the Members of Parliament from the villages selected under PM Modi, Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana in their parliamentary constituencies. Five students and one teacher have been nominated to each of the Members of Parliament to participate in Student Science Village.
