New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day tour of Russia starts on Wednesday. PM Modi will leave for Russia today i.e. on Tuesday evening. PM Modi will take part in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) and the 20th annual summit between the two countries here. The Foreign Ministry has given information in this regard on Monday.
Giving information about the upcoming visit of PM Modi, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale has said that it will be a short journey of 36 hours. Foreign Secretary Gokhale said that PM Modi will arrive in Vladivostok, a major port city of Russia, on the morning of September 4 and will leave for home on the evening of September 5. Foreign Secretary Gokhale said, "There are two main objectives of this visit. PM Modi has been invited by Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) as the Chief Guest. The second is that of India and Russia. Will attend the 20th annual summit meeting. "
Foreign Secretary Gokhale has said that Russia started the EEF in 2015 and was attended by the former Minister of Commerce and Industry in 2018 and the former Foreign Minister took part in 2017.
