New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will release Rs 2,691 crore financial assistance to 6.1 lakh beneficiaries under PM Awas Yojana Gramin today. PM Modi will also interact with beneficiaries through video conferencing at 12 pm today. Union Rural Development Minister and CM Yogi Adityanath will also be present on the occasion.

In a tweet, PM Narendra Modi wrote, "Today is an important day for the rural brothers and sisters of Uttar Pradesh. Through video conferencing at 12 noon, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana will release assistance to lakhs of rural beneficiaries. This will be a major step towards the goal of giving a home to all. There will be 5 lakh 30,000 beneficiaries who will be released the first instalment of financial assistance, while 80 thousand beneficiaries will get the second instalment and the first instalment under PMAY-G has already been given."

The PM Awas Yojana was launched rural on 20th November 2016. So far 1.26 crore houses have already been constructed under the scheme. Rs 1.20 lakh for making houses for every beneficiary in plain areas under PMAY-G while hilly areas (North Eastern States/States). Inaccessible Places/Places Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories/UTs IAP/IAP 1.30 lakh is provided to the people of LWE districts.
