New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of the historic Chauri Chaura Centenary on 4 February 2021. To remember the incident of Chauri Chaura, Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is celebrating the centenary celebrations of Chauri Chaura this year. In the year 1922, a police post was set on fire in Chauri Chaura by the protesters belonging to the freedom movement. 22 policemen were killed in this incident.

PM Modi will start this program through video conferencing. During this, CM Yogi Adityanath will also be present there. PM Modi will also issue a ticket on this occasion. The program will be started in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh remembering this incident, which will continue till 4 February 2022. There was a movement for the independence of the country. The year was 1922. The non-cooperation movement of Mahatma Gandhi was at its peak. Meanwhile, the movement against the British government was also going on in Chauri Chaura of Gorakhpur in UP. On 4 February, when the crowd reached Chauri Chaura, the agitators became furious.

The agitators set a police post in the British government on fire. In this incident, 22 police personnel hidden in this police post were burnt alive. This incident is known as Chauri Chaura Centenary in history. After this violence, Mahatma Gandhi was very sad and after this, he withdrew the Non-Cooperation Movement.
