New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will begin the distribution of e-property cards under the 'Ownership Scheme' on the occasion of National Panchayat Day on Saturday. According to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), more than four lakh property owners will be given their e-property cards on the occasion in the presence of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. With this, the implementation of the ownership scheme will begin across the country.

PM Modi will also present the National Panchayat Awards 2021 on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. Under this, 224 Panchayats will be given Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar, 30 Gram Panchayats will receive Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Award, 29 Gram Panchayats will receive Gram Panchayat Vikas Yojana Award, 30 Gram Panchayats will be given Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat Awards and 12 States will receive e-Panchayat Awards.

Let me tell you that ownership was launched by PM Modi on April 24 last year as a central sector scheme to promote socio-economic empowerment and self-reliant rural India. The scheme surveys villages and mapping with advanced technology in rural areas. The scheme has the potential to transform rural India through the use of modern methods of mapping and surveying.
