New Delhi: PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Bhutan, India's 'trusted friend and neighbour' today. It will focus on further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bhutan comes at the invitation of his Visiting Prime Minister Lotte Tsering. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, he will interact with the youth of Bhutan at the Royal University. He will also launch a hydro project in Bhutan.

During his second term, PM Modi is on a visit to Bhutan very soon, with emphasis on the 'Neighbourhood First Policy'. During his first stint as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi began his foreign visits to Bhutan. 

"During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold talks with Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and former Bhutanese King Jigme Singe Wangchuck Sang and Tsering Sangathan," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

The statement also said that the visit is in keeping with the tradition of high-level exchanges between the two countries and will also focus on further strengthening and diversifying the bilateral relationship. Economic and development cooperation, hydropower cooperation, regional affairs and other bilateral issues will also be discussed.
