New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and West Bengal tomorrow to review the damage caused by cyclone Yaas. PM Modi will first visit Bhubaneswar where he will hold a review meeting. He will then take stock of the damage through aerial survey in the affected areas of Balsore, Bhadrak and Purba Medinipur. PM Modi will then attend a review meeting in West Bengal.

The cyclonic storm wreaked havoc in West Bengal and Odisha on Wednesday. The cyclonic storm hit Dhamra port in Bhadrak district of Odisha and caused considerable damage. Tell us that sea water had entered the villages in Odisha and many huts were also washed away. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has claimed that nearly 3 lakh houses in Bengal have been damaged by the Yaas cyclone. Odisha affected by yas cyclone has been assisted by the Central Government.

Rs 641 crore has been released by the Central Government to Odisha as accelerated relief fund. It is reported that finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced this on the recommendation of home minister Amit Shah. This was the first installment of the Center's assistance to the State Disaster Response Fund. Let us tell you that the storm yas has completed the landfall. It started at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and then continued till 1 a.m.
