New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar i.e. Veer Savarkar on Thursday morning. PM Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle and remembered his contribution to the freedom movement. During this, PM Modi also tweeted a video, in which he mentioned about Veer Savarkar.
PM Narendra Modi wrote in tweet that, "I salute Veer Savarkar on his birth anniversary, we bow our head for his bravery, contribution to the freedom movement and encourage thousands of people." Apart from PM Modi, the official Twitter handle of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also paid tribute to Veer Savarkar, along with many BJP leaders, Union ministers have paid tribute by tweeting on the occasion.
Veer Savarkar, born in Mumbai on May 28, 1883, was a freedom fighter, a writer, advocate. During the movement, the British punished him. He is also a historian who has scripted the history of the victory of the nation. He shook the British rule by writing a sensational and exploratory history of the first freedom of 1857 Summer. The assassination of Mahatma Gandhi accused of being an accomplice of Veer Savarkar, which could not be proved. There is also a truth that the introduction of Mahatma Gandhi and Savarkar-brothers was quite old. Gandhi was also among those influenced by Savarkar-brothers' personality in many aspects and called him 'Veer'.
