This unique initiative of IIT, Bombay has been praised by PM Narendra Modi. PM Narendra Modi has tweeted from his official Twitter handle saying that, 'Amazing blend of tradition and technology! IIT Bombay organized an interesting convocation with great effort. Congratulations for the class of 2020! I remember my visit to this fine institute for the convocation ceremony in August 2018.
On organizing this convocation, IIT-Bombay has stated that, keeping in view the security measures during Corona, the institute conducted the convocation in a virtual manner for its graduate students. We did not want to deprive the students of the achievement and pride of passing from the premier engineering institute and hence organized the convocation in a virtual manner. '
