PM to address inaugural session of Distt Legal Services Authorities

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, July 30,  said he will be addressing the inaugural session of the first All India District Legal Services Authorities meeting that take place at 10-am.

According to the PMO office, "The Prime Minister and District Legal Services Authorities will discuss various issues pertaining to the judiciary and upholding justice for for all."

Taking to Twitter, PM said "At 10 AM,  PM will address at the first All India District Legal Services Authorities Meet, which is taking place in Delhi. All DLSAs participate in this platform to discuss various issues pertaining to the judiciary and ensuring justice for all".

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is hosting the first-ever national-level conference of District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) from July 30-31 at Vigyan Bhawan, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).


To bring homogeneity and synchronization across DLSAs, the workshop will discuss the development of an integrated approach.

There are a total of 676 District Legal Services Authorities in India. They are headed by a District Judge who acts as Chairman of the authority. Through DLSAs and State Legal Services Authorities, various legal assistants and awareness programmes are implemented by NALSA.

By regulating the Lok Adalats held by NALSA, the DLSAs also help to lighten the load on the courts.
