PM to interact with Indian contingent participating in Commonwealth Games tomorrow

PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact with the Indian contingent participating in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 on Wednesday i.e. July 20. According to a statement issued by the PM's office (PMO), the interaction, which will take place through video conference, will be attended by athletes as well as their coaches.

The PMO has said that the PM's interaction is a part of his constant effort to motivate the athletes before they participate in major sporting events. Last year, the PM interacted with the contingent of Indian athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics as well as the contingent of Indian para-athletes participating in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

 

The Commonwealth Games 2022 are scheduled to be held in Birmingham from July 28 to August 8. A total of 215 athletes will represent India in the Commonwealth Games by participating in 141 events across 19 sports in this event. All eyes are going to be on veteran athletes like Neeraj Chopra, Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya, PV Sindhu and Dutee Chand in these games.
