NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to lay the foundation stone for a number of infrastructure development projects costing Rs 6,100 crore in Warangal, Telangana today, July 8.
These transformative initiatives hold immense potential to benefit the people of Telangana. Prior to engaging in the foundation stone laying events, PM Modi plans to visit the revered Bhadrakali temple in Warangal at 10:30 am to perform a sacred puja. Furthermore, a public meeting is scheduled to be addressed by the esteemed Prime Minister in the district.
In a parallel development, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is expected to abstain from attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi's program. Earlier, the Telangana BJP leadership had confirmed PM Modi's visit to Telangana on July 8 for the inauguration of three National Highways. The central event of the visit involves the laying of the foundation stone for a wagon manufacturing unit in Warangal, an obligation pledged by the BJP government.
According to BJP spokesperson Prakash Reddy, this crucial project, which received adequate funding in the previous budget, will generate employment opportunities for over 3,000 individuals and foster industrial growth in Warangal. Reddy stated that the project encountered delays due to land acquisition and legal issues, but these obstacles have now been resolved, ensuring its swift completion. As part of this momentous occasion, Telangana BJP is making preparations for a grand public meeting, aiming to showcase the developmental and welfare activities undertaken by the Modi government.
During the public meeting, Prime Minister Modi will articulate the government's unwavering commitment to the development of Telangana, fulfilling the promises made during the bifurcation act. The meeting serves as an opportunity for the Prime Minister to elucidate the BJP government's initiatives and elaborate on the steps taken for Telangana's progress. Reddy expressed confidence that the public meeting will achieve resounding success and assured that Prime Minister Modi will continue to visit Hyderabad and Telangana in the future.
Following the Warangal engagement, Prime Minister Modi will embark on a journey to Bikaner, Rajasthan, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a range of transformative projects valued at over Rs 24,300 crore. These projects include the dedication of a six-lane greenfield expressway section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor, as well as phase-I of the Inter-State Transmission Line for Green Energy Corridor. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Bikaner Railway Station. Notably, PM Narendra Modi's itinerary encompasses visits to four states, namely Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan, from July 7 to 8. It is pertinent to mention that apart from Uttar Pradesh, all the states are scheduled to hold elections later this year.
