NEW DELHI: Today, July 7, a major event awaits the people of Uttar Pradesh as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch two remarkable Vande Bharat Express trains in the state.
One of these trains is the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express, the 25th of its kind in the country. Covering a distance of 302 km in just four hours, this semi-high-speed train will make a stop at Ayodhya junction. Its introduction will reduce the travel time between Gorakhpur and Lucknow by two hours, benefiting commuters starting from July 9.
In addition, PM Modi will also inaugurate the Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express on the same day. These new additions bring the total count of semi-high-speed trains operating in the country to 25, providing 50 up and down services.
The Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to depart from Gorakhpur at 6.05 am, arriving in Lucknow at 10.20 am on the same day.
For the return journey, the train will leave Lucknow at 7.15 pm and reach Gorakhpur at 11.25 pm on the same day.
Notably, the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow Vande Bharat train is significant for its ability to cover the distance from Gorakhpur to Ayodhya in about two hours, and from Lucknow to Ayodhya in just two hours as well.
Some of the Vande Bharat trains with top occupancy are: Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express (128%), Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express (134%), Trivandrum to Kasaragod Vande Bharat train (176%), Kasaragod to Trivandrum train is the best-performing Vande Bharat Express (183%).
