NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G20 Summit on November 15 and 16 in Bali and bring gifts from Himachali culture and heritage for the heads of state there.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely present special works of art and handicraft from Himachal Pradesh to international leaders during the G20 conference that will be place in Bali.
The sources said, the prime minister might present things like Kangra miniature paintings and Kullu shawls.
From December 1, India will assume the G20 chairmanship from Indonesia. India will stay in office until November 20, 2023.
The G20 is a leading platform for worldwide economic cooperation, with members representing around two-thirds of the world's population, over 75% of global trade, and about 85% of the global GDP.
In addition to the weakening of developing markets and currencies, including the rupee, India is assuming the presidency at a time when geopolitical tensions are mounting due to the Russia-Ukraine war, inflation, rising gasoline prices, and unemployment are all emerging as key global worries.
Kinnauri Shawl: These shawls are made in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh and are renowned for their geometric patterns and religious artefacts. The contributions made by Himachal Pradesh on a global scale will also advance the art and culture of the region.
Himachali Mukhate: During the G20 Summit, the prime minister will also present Himachali Mukhate to world leaders. On Tuesday, PM Modi also made the logo, theme, and website for India's G-20 Presidency public via video conference.
Kangra miniature painting: Kangra miniature painting is a type of pictorial art that was called for the former princely state of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. These paintings are notable for their lush flora. On the international stage where the Summit will be held on November 15 and 16 in Bali, Prime Minister Modi will display these artworks.
