New Delhi: On the occasion of Shaheed Diwas or Sarvodaya Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Biplobi Bharat Gallery at Kolkata's Victoria Memorial Hall through video conference on Wednesday at 6 pm.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will also address the gathering. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the gallery that will be launched commemorates revolutionaries' contributions to India's freedom movement and provides a comprehensive view of the events leading up to 1947.

"The Gallery highlights the Revolutionaries' role in the struggle for freedom and their armed opposition to British colonial control. This dimension has frequently been overlooked in the dominant narrative of the freedom struggle. The objective of this new gallery is to present a comprehensive overview of the events leading up to 1947 and to emphasise the Revolutionaries' critical role "The PMO stated in an official release.

The gallery will also have exhibits on the revolutionary movement, the founding of significant associations by revolutionary leaders, the extension of the movement, the formation of the Indian National Army, and the role of the Naval Mutiny.
