Srinagar: Police in Jammu and Kashmir have announced rewards ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh for individuals providing information on "anti-national activities" in the region. The highest reward of Rs 5 lakh will be given to anyone who helps locate transborder tunnels used by "anti-national elements" to smuggle terrorists, explosives, and contraband into Jammu and Kashmir from across the border, according to a police statement. Additionally, Rs 3 lakh will be awarded for information leading to the recovery of narcotics, arms, or explosives dropped by drones flown from across the border.

Individuals providing actionable intelligence about those involved in receiving drone deliveries or transporting illegal goods from the border or Line of Control (LoC) to the hinterland or Punjab will receive Rs 3 lakh, if the information is corroborated during further action. A reward of Rs 2 lakh has been announced for those providing information leading to the busting of inter-state narcotic modules or accurate details about individuals communicating with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers or jailed separatists. Similarly, individuals providing information about persons communicating with terrorist handlers across the border or within Jammu and Kashmir will also receive Rs 2 lakh, provided the information is corroborated during investigation.

Furthermore, individuals reporting on those encouraging, inducing, or inciting people to join terrorist groups or engage in violence in places like mosques, madrasas, schools, or colleges will receive a reward of Rs 1 lakh if the information is corroborated during investigation.
