Ranchi: Jharkhand Police is in full action mode against drug dealers. Preparations are being made to confiscate the properties of drug dealers in Jharkhand. Property of opium and brown sugar dealers will be confiscated in the state. The police is preparing a list of such persons who have been jailed two or more times in the drug trade.

The same Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act provides for confiscation of property of such persons. It is a big challenge for the state police to stop the cultivation of opium in thousands of acres of area every year in 9-10 cities of Jharkhand. In cities like Chatra, Khunti, Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Jamtara, Latehar, Palamu, Seraikela-Kharsawan, opium is being cultivated in an area of ​​more than five thousand acres. To destroy the opium crops, the police is running a campaign in every district and in this sequence the traders have also been detained.

In the same year 2021, the police have trampled the flourishing opium crops in about three thousand acres of area in the entire state. Now to curb drug dealers, the police has decided to confiscate their property. First of all it is being started from Chatra district. Police sources said that more than two dozen such persons have been identified in Chatra, who have been jailed two or more times for drug dealing. A special team has been deployed to trace the movable and immovable properties of such persons. On the basis of the history sheet of drug dealers, their property will be confiscated.
