Thane: In a case reported from Mumbai, a woman has accused that a police constable harassed her when she went to the police station to lodge a complaint against the in-laws. According to sources, the 28-year-old woman said that she had gone to the Padga police station in April and was harassed by a havaldar named Devidas Chavan.

The accused constable has been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In her complaint, the woman accused her husband and in-laws of harassment and cruelty. After filing the complaint, Chavan asked the woman to come to the police station for further investigation.
When the complainant reached the police station, Chavan began to trouble her. The complainant claimed that the accused kept asking her to accompany him to a restaurant. A senior police officer has registered a case against the accused on the complaint of a 28-year-old woman.

Another such incident came from Lucknow where a policeman sexually assaulted a woman for more than a year. The accused, Rohit Yadav, had promised to marry the woman, but a year later, he broke up the relationship citing his family's rejection. The woman said she wrote to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several other officials, but she did not get any response. The complainant claimed that when she approached the police with her complaint, they asked her to compromise with the accused.
