Bhopal: Police today resorted to lathi-charge on NSUI activists who rushed to cordon off CM houses against the education policies of the Madhya Pradesh government. As per the information received, the workers first reached the road leading to the CM's residence where the police had already installed barricades. NSUI activists then tried to break the barricades, which forced the police to resort to lathi-charge to control law and order.

While addressing the NSUI workers, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath said, 'Nothing is going to happen just by raising flags, banners, posters and slogans. Make the Congress organization strong by using all your might.' Apart from this, Kamal Nath also said, 'You are the future of the country. If your spirit remains intact, no one can stop you from hoisting the Congress flag in the state after the next two years.' Today, on Thursday, a group of students arrived to cordon off the CM's residence against the non-grant of scholarships to thousands of students and promotion of privatisation in new education.

In Madhya Pradesh, organization functionaries and workers were present to participate in the siege. All senior leaders including Congress state president Kamal Nath were present during the siege. Apart from all this, former Ministers P C Sharma, Lakhan Ghanghoria, Kunal Chaudhary, Vipin Wankhede and other MLAs were also reportedly present at the siege.
