Nalanda: At least a dozen people were injured in a police lathicharge during Hanuman Aarti in Bihar's Nalanda district, police said on Sunday. Actually, on Tuesday, lord Hanuman ji's aarti was being done at Hanuman Temple near Amber Chowk in the Bihar police station area of Nalanda. It is alleged that due to this, Bajrang Dal workers were beaten up and lathi-charged by the police personnel of the Bihar police station.

Due to this, many Bajrang Dal activists present here became furious and started closing all the shops creating a ruckus. The situation suddenly deteriorated in the area. A large number of police forces, including Sadar DSP Dr. Shibli Nomani, were called in, but Bajrang Dal activists kept creating a ruckus.

At the same time, a large number of Bajrang Dal workers reached Amber Chowk and were raising slogans against the administration. SDM Abhishek Palasia said that action will be taken against the culprits after the investigation. While Bajrang Dal activist Vicky said that Bajrang Bali aarti is held here every Tuesday, this time the police have resorted to a lathi charge.
