Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, agenda at the summit meeting being held with the top leaders of the European Union on Wednesday will be about knowing the Union's mindset about China. It will certainly be up to the business of both sides to start a fresh business bilateral free trade and investment agreement that is pending for the past seven years. But at the global level, China's current behaviour on the board will be an important matter. Indian Ministry of External Affairs and European Union sources have informed.

The entire agenda of the country will be in the way with the US and other European countries supporting the Indian side on the encroachment of Chinese troops in the eastern Ladakh border, likewise from the EU, while at the summit, the European Union is headed by Charles Michel, President of the European Council and Ursula Lear, President of the European Commission.

About three weeks ago a similar virtual summit meeting was held between the EU and China, which was considered to be a failure by experts. After this, there was a further increase in hassle between EU and China regarding Hong Kong, it was difficult in getting the agreement done between the two about the business deal. In the meeting between India and the EU, there is going to be a talk about starting the bilateral free trade and investment agreement. In 2013, India decided to postpone it, also, it came on headlines in  September 2019, but then it was reported that it will be announced in PM Modi's visit to Brussels in May 2020.
