Pollution Control Certificate (PUC) has been made mandatory for refuelling at petrol pumps. Yes, and failing that, the drivers will not be given petrol and diesel. Not only this, the vehicles whose PUC certificates will be found to be expired during this period, drivers will have to issue it at the pump itself. This decision has been taken recently and the aim is to curb air pollution. It is being told that this will help in keeping the pollution level of every vehicle under the scanner and this system will remain at all the petrol pumps in Delhi.

In a draft notification issued on March 4, the state government has revealed that it will provide petrol, diesel or CNG only if there is a valid PUC with immediate effect. This means that if your vehicle has not had a PUC then you will no longer be able to refuel. Not only this, but the Delhi government has also provided for punishment up to 5 years and a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh to petrol pump owners who violate this rule. Let us tell you all that a statement has been issued by the office of Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai and according to this statement, the PUC will soon become the need to refuel the vehicles at all petrol pumps in Delhi.

Under this, it will be mandatory for drivers to keep PUC to fill fuel in vehicles. That is, overall, if your vehicle has not had its PUC, then you will no longer be given petrol-diesel or CNG by petrol pumps. Reena Gupta, the advisor to the environment minister, says the decision reaffirms the commitment of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's government to ensure clean air for all citizens.
