The journey of Dr. Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India, has been very memorable. He was born on 11 December 1935 in village Mirity, West Bengal. He is one of the prominent Congress leaders. Many times Pranab Mukherjee has defeated the opponents even by his thinking. When he was in active politics, he was known as 'Congress troubleshooter'.

Pranab Mukherjee studied at Suri Vidyasagar College, Virbhum. He later received his MA in Political Science and LLB degree from Kolkata University. Not only this, he has also tried his hand in journalism. His political career began with the joining of the Bangla Congress in 1969. At that time, the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi caught sight of him and then it was from here that a great personality and politician of India started.

In 1969, in July, Pranab Mukherjee was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the first time. After this, 'Pranab da' became part of Rajya Sabha in 1975, 1981, 1993 and 1999 also. Meanwhile, from the year 1980 to 1985, he also worked as the Leader of the House in the state. 1973 was the year when he got the opportunity to become Union Minister for the first time. After this, when the Congress government was formed at the Center in 2004 and Dr. Manmohan Singh became the PM, Dr. Pranab da was again made Union Minister. The biggest turning point in his political career came when he was elected as the 13th President of India in 2012. For 5 years he continued to serve as the President of the country. After this, he completely got away from active politics.

When Pranab 'Da' was awarded the Bharat Ratna

Dr. Pranab Mukherjee has also been awarded the 'Bharat Ratna', India's highest national honor. In the year 2019, 'Pranab da' was awarded 'Bharat Ratna' by the hands of President Ramnath Kovind. Whereas before this, he was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second highest national honor .
