Bihar: Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor slammed at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar once more on Friday, asserting that the leader of the JD(U) has consistently found a way to hold onto power regardless of the situation.
Kishor delivered his erstwhile sponsor a backhanded compliment at a press conference in this district of north Bihar, hinting that Kumar's unkind comments about him in Delhi had left him with a bad taste in his mouth. "Manufacturers of Fevicol might consider having him as their brand ambassador," he added, referring to the fact that Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, has never left his seat.
Kishor, a former JD(U) national vice president who was expelled due to disagreements with the de facto leader, reacted angrily to Kumar's suggestion that he might be secretly working for the BJP, recalling a few instances that suggested capitulation on the part of the Bihar CM. "Nitish Kumar has been sworn in as chief minister six times in the last one decade. He must have left the people confused as to what does he stand for," In reference to the swearing-in event of Yogi Adityanath as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh earlier this year, where a picture of Kumar and the PM became a topic of conversation, Kishor said, "He bent at a 90 degree angle to salute Modi."
Kishor said, reminding the JD(U) leader of his effusive praise of the PM following his realignment with the BJP in 2017. "He may now be fancying himself as a prime ministerial contender but till recently he saw Modi as a superman who cannot be beaten," he said.
No one would take Kumar seriously if he refers to anyone as a BJP B-team, according to Kishor, the JD(U) supremo who recently launched Jan Suraaj, a campaign that aims to give Bihar a "better political option." This is because the JD(U) supremo himself was an ally of the saffron camp a month ago.
He said "politics in the state recently shifted 180 degrees. There are certain to be further turns in the lead up to next elections." He also stated that "the next assembly polls in Bihar will not be a BJP vs so-called Grand Alliance of seven parties."
Recently, Kumar had alleged that Kishor was attempting to aid the BJP and was ignorant of the "ABCs" of politics and government.
