Lucknow: A shocking case has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj where five people of the same family have been strangulated to death. The case pertains to Khagalpur village in the district. The dead include the husband and wife and their three children. On receiving the information, the police have reached the spot and are investigating the case. Police said the 42-year-old deceased, Rahul Tiwari, lived in a rented accommodation in Khagalpur with his 38-year-old wife Preeti and three daughters Mahi, Pihu and Pohu. Originally this family was a resident of Kaushambi. According to the police, the bodies of his wife and three children were found lying on the bed. They were murdered by slitting throats. At the same time, the husband's body was found hanging from the snare in the bathroom. The police are investigating the case from every angle. 

Two days ago, a man in Odisha had stabbed his elder brother and his entire family with a sharp weapon and after killing five people, the accused confessed to his crime through a video message and surrendered to the police station. The 42-year-old accused, Shiva Prasad Sahu, has been arrested. Police have cited a land dispute as to the reason for the murder. The case pertains to Kusupur village in the Cuttack district. 

According to the police, the deceased include Alekh Chandra Sahu (46), his wife Rashmi Rekha (41), daughter Sandhya, two sons Sahil (18) and Saurabh (16). In his confession in the video message, the accused Shiva said, "My elder brother and his family members had been harassing me for a long time. After a talk about land, they even assaulted me. I lost my temper in anger and killed the entire family of the brother. Now I'm ready to face any punishment."
