Patna: Political parties have started preparing for 24 legislative council seats to be elected from the local body authority constituency after panchayat elections in Bihar. Meanwhile, the RJD is also engaged in this election exercise.  Panchayat elections may not have been held on party grounds, but party-backed winning candidates have reportedly started manipulating parties to favour them.

Anil Samrat, a young RJD leader from Bhojpur area, along with about 12 victorious block chiefs, reached former CM Rabri Devi's residence and met Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav. On this occasion, Tejashwi Yadav warmly welcomed Anil Samrat and newly elected office bearers. Talking to reporters on the occasion, Anil Samrat said that this time only grand alliance candidates will win in the Legislative Council as RJD backed candidates have won the panchayat elections in a big figure.

Asha Devi, who became district councillor president from Bhojpur, said the victory was achieved with the support of Tejashwi Yadav and anil samrat. Even in the run-up to the assembly elections, the emperor had campaigned intensively for RJD candidates and many candidates had won. It may be recalled that elections to the vacant seats of the Legislative Council were scheduled to be held last year, but due to the delay in panchayat elections due to the second wave of corona infection, fresh elections have not been held so far.
