Country to get 15th President today, celebrations begin in village of 'Murmu' even before counting

New Delhi: Voting for the presidential election was held on July 18. The new president will be sworn in on July 25. President Ram Nath Kovind's term ends on July 24. In the July 18 polling, 728 votes were cast in the polling booths in parliament. Of these, 719 were MPs, while nine MLAs were also allowed to vote in Parliament House.  

The Election Commission has informed that 100 per cent polling has been recorded for the Presidential elections in Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. After the completion of voting for the presidential election, Rajya Sabha General Secretary P C Modi informed that the total voter turnout in Parliament House was 99.18%.  

Celebrations in the village of Draupadi Murmu:-

On the other hand, there is talk that a lot of votes have been cast in favour of Murmu. If this claim turns out to be true in the counting of votes, she will become the country's first tribal woman president. At the same time, preparations have also begun for the celebration at Draupadi Murmu's native place Rairangpur in Odisha. Sweets will be distributed after the results are out. Laddoos have started to be made in Rairangpur. Not only this but preparations have also been made to take out a victory procession after the victory. Local BJP leader Tapan Mahanta has informed that 20,000 laddoos are being made. Along with this, 100 banners have also been created.
