President Ram Nath Kovind cataract surgery successful, discharged

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind underwent cataract surgery at an Indian Army hospital on Thursday and was discharged from the hospital. Rashtrapati Bhavan has given information in this regard. In a statement, Rashtrapati Bhavan said, "President of India Ram Nath Kovind underwent cataract surgery at the Army Hospital (Referral and Research), New Delhi on Thursday morning which was successful. He has since been discharged from the hospital.''

Earlier, on 30th March, Ram Nath Kovind underwent bypass surgery, which was successful. He was then discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi (AIIMS) on April 12. On March 26, President Kovind suffered chest pain after which he was taken to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral) in Delhi.

Where President Ram Nath Kovind underwent a routine checkup, doctors referred him to AIIMS for further treatment, and then President was shifted to AIIMS on the afternoon of March 27 followed by successful bypass surgery on March 30.
