President Ram Nath Kovind to address nation today on eve of Republic Day

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind will address the nation today on the eve of the 72nd Republic Day. The President's address will be telecast live on all national networks of All India Radio from 7 pm onwards and on all channels of Doordarshan Hindi and English. According to a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, it will be telecast in regional languages on all regional channels of Doordarshan after broadcasting in English and Hindi.

The president's address in regional languages will be broadcast on All India Radio from 9.30 pm onwards. President Ram Nath Kovind will unfurl the tricolour at India Gate on Republic Day. In view of republic day, unprecedented security has been prepared from land to sky in the country's capital, Delhi. Thousands of security personnel have been deployed and patrolling has been stepped up in busy markets and areas of the city.

Security arrangements have also been beefed up in the border areas in view of the proposed tractor march of farmers' organisations. The chairs for the Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath will also be installed following the rules of social dissing. This time, the number of parade watchers has also been cut to 25,000, while last time there was a system for about 1.25 lakh people.
